Prashanth Fertility, Padur, Chennai is a branch of Prashanth Fertility Research Centre (PFRC), the fertility division of Chennai's Prashanth Hospitals group founded by Dr Geetha Haripriya and Dr G Gopalaswamy. PFRC was founded in 2001 and is led by Dr Geetha Haripriya, a well-known gynaecologist and fertility specialist; the group states that more than 60,000 babies have been delivered under its care.
The Padur centre, the group's newest Chennai location, occupies the first and second floors of SS Avenue on Rajiv Gandhi Salai (OMR) and serves the IT corridor including Kelambakkam, Siruseri, Navalur and Thiruporur, with flexible appointment slots and weekend consultations for working couples.
Treatments offered include IUI, IVF and Hi-Tech IVF, ICSI, ovulation induction, laser assisted hatching, blastocyst culture and transfer, embryo and semen cryopreservation, egg freezing, embryo donor and surrogacy programmes, and hysterolaparoscopy. Male infertility care covers semen analysis, hormonal therapy, surgical sperm retrieval and lifestyle guidance.
The PFRC laboratories use diode laser assisted hatching, blastocyst culture, vitrification for embryo cryopreservation, and preimplantation genetic diagnosis and prenatal testing for embryo selection. The group reports IVF success rates of up to 80-85%, depending on age and diagnosis.
Because PFRC is part of a multi-speciality hospital group, couples can continue from fertility treatment into antenatal care, delivery and neonatal (NICU) support within the Prashanth network, and packages such as the Maternity Package, Well Women Checkup and Fit Mommy Programme are offered. ABOUT INFRASTRUCTURE
The Padur centre occupies two floors of SS Avenue on OMR with consultation rooms, imaging and ultrasound systems, procedure facilities and an advanced embryology laboratory. Bed numbers are not published.
Fertility services are supported by a high-tech IVF laboratory with diode laser assisted hatching, blastocyst culture, embryo and semen cryopreservation, and access to preimplantation genetic diagnosis and prenatal testing. Ultrasound monitoring, andrology services and hysterolaparoscopy are available for diagnosis and treatment.
